Arleys Guide to Business Insurance
Below is a brief guide to business insurances from our friends at Qdos Consulting. Please visit the Market Place for more information and to purchase these essential products.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Professional indemnity insurance will provide protection against any costs incurred from defending claims where it may be alleged that a client has suffered financial loss as a result of your error, omission or negligence. PI Insurance is commonly a stipulation in standard contracts used by most agencies.
Employers Liability
Employers’ Liability Insurance is a legal requirement for any business with employees.
Public Liability
Public liability insurance will provide protection for claims of third party injury, death or property damage as a result of negligent acts by you or your employees. Public Liability Insurance is not legally required, however, is commonly stipulated as a contractual requirement, especially for offshore workers.
Freelancer Tax Protection
Freelance tax protection provides insurance cover for representation costs in the event of an IR35, PAYE, VAT, HMRC full or aspect enquiry.
A more comprehensive option is also available that not only encompasses the aforementioned, but also covers the cost of additional tax, NIC, interest and penalties arising from a status enquiry.
Other Insurances
Jury Service Cover and Legal Protection is a comprehensive legal protection for UK freelancers, including £500 per day jury service cover, contract dispute representation, and debt recovery.
Contractor Sickness Cover provides a lump sum payment in the event of an insured person suffering accidental death, or monthly payments in the event of an insured person being unable to work through their disablement (accident or sickness).
